Words of Hope and Faith for the Weary

A Prayer of Remembrance

God forgives me of all my sins;
his word says whenever I pray, he hears me.
And if he hears me I have the petitions of my heart.
If I lack wisdom I only ask of him and he will give to me freely.
I must be of faith and in total trust that he hears my prayers, and helps me when I ask.
Because what I do without asking him to direct me, I do of myself;
but when I ask him what to do, I believe in faith that the things I do, I do through his spirit.
I have confidence in him; I trust him to help me and guide me through the trials I face.
If things are not as I expect or is discouraging,
I still praise him and am thankful for even that.
Knowing it was not his will; his is better.

This is a personal pledge that I would like to share with you. I hope it helps you follow, trust God, and know that he is there for you; although challenges may come against you.
I would like to explain its meaning.
Firstly, I do not say I have all the answers; but I know what God has done for me, and what gives me comfort. Like many, my mind wavers and doubts fill me often. The fight against defeat causes me sleepless night, mood swings, and fear that makes me want to turn around and go back to the way things were. God through his spirit, although, has shown me this should not be, and the danger of a wavering mind.
In God’s word, the bible, 1st John 1:9 KJV says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” When I know I have wronged another or sinned against his will I ask for forgiveness. Through his word, I realize that when I ask for forgiveness, through the blood of Jesus, my sins are forgiven me and the love of God has never left me.
When I pray, I always keep my confidence in it; unyielding faith, not in myself, but in the faith that he cares about me and hears my prayers. 1st John 14:1-15 also says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” This I try to hold on to regardless of the thoughts in my mind or the words people say.
The desires in my heart, which I know he has given me, helps me believe he has a plan for me. If I am not sure my thoughts are from him, I ask him. James 1:5-6 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.
Sometimes I do things that are not God’s will for me, or leave the path he has me on. I find that always their outcomes are not quite right; regardless of how good they look, if I am honest with myself. However, when I follow God’s will and I do the things he is leading me to do, through the Holy Spirit, they always turn out for my best; regardless of how hopeless it looks at the start.

Any situation that I find myself, I try to remember to praise God. I praise him because he is good, because he loves me, and because he sent his son to die for me. Nothing I go through can be worse than the pain that Jesus suffered. Due to his sacrifice, in all of my trials, pains, and heartaches, God is with me; I do not go through anything alone. I know an end will come to the discomfort, and it will be for my better.12074760_10204739453836019_5314779243266915762_n
Lastly my favorite verse; it always gives me peace, Prov 3:5-6 ” Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
