Faith is the Answer
There are so many horrific events happening around us I sometimes wonder how is possible that we humans can ever continue to exist. Shootings from rooftops killing many innocents bothers killing brothers, children killing parents, slaveries, wars of power and control, and this only mentions a few. And the sad fact is these horrible events are not just local, but they are happening all over the world. My prayers go out to everyone involved in, know of, or have loved ones experiencing these terrible trials.
A friend and I were speaking a couple of days ago, and she made a statement that caused me to think.
She said, “This world is terrible, and there are no good people left.” Tammy has a heart of gold, and I genuinely believe that she has the gift to love everyone. She is kind to all and always puts her heart out there by trying to help everyone. So often she is hurt from the manipulations of others, but still, she loves, and there is nothing wrong with that because that is what our Lord Jesus commanded us to do so.
Luke 17: 4 “Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
1st John 4:10 “Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
I thought for a minute and replied, “not true; I think there are still good people left it just seems that we hear so much bad that it outweighs all the good going on around us.”
We both were quiet for a moment then she said, “Yes, I guess you are right.”
We hear of so much of evil because that is what the world shows us; almost all media including the news, facebook, internet, and television showcases the horrible things occur, and this ends up as our focus. Happenings we do not see, hear, or can confirm with our physical being takes the second place in thoughts and is almost unbelievable that they do occur.
It is rare that we hear of the good. However, I believe that good is done every day. It might not have a media spectacle, or the person that does it might not be rich, famous, or well known. Although no trumpets blast or the act does not go viral on the internet, it does not mean that it does not happen.
When a smile is given that brightens another person’s day, that is wonderful; when someone helps an elder person or child by assisting them with their daily needs or merely talking to them because they have no one else that will listen, that is great. Everyday someone donates to a worthy charity that helps those in need, and that is awesome; and more than often, someone goes out of their way to help a stranger.
So I encourage those who are trying to do good and keep a positive attitude to realize that satan is trying to steal the love from your heart. Keep it going, hang in there, and keep loving regardless of what others may say.
1 Corinthians 13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8 Charity never faileth:
Please also remember, although terrible things are happening all around us when we are God’s children He puts a protective hedge around us and we do not need to worry about the tragedies that those who do not believe in God experience. God is there to help during hard times. All we have to do is reach out to Him and trust. He works miracles on behalf of those who believes and trusts in Him. His word is His law, and he is not a man that he should lie. Find blessing in His word and live upon them and you will see, He will help you.
Psalm 91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
