Today, while looking over my blog, I was moved to share this post again. I hope it blesses you, and the knowledge of God’s love fills your heart.
Because of the job that I have had for so many years, I have been introduced to some of the worse side of human nature. For money, I have watched people lie, cheat, steal, hurt others, and even burn down their own homes in hopes to ease themselves of a financial burden that they have gotten their own selves into. Also, we war with each other and hate, for reasons sometimes we do not even understand ourselves.
When I see such horrors, I sometimes wonder if God made a mistake. I used to ask myself, “is it God’s fault we cause pain to others?” like I hear so many others comment. Nevertheless, when I meditate on his word, I find that I have a free will; I can use it for good or bad. God in his awesomeness will never violate my will and my freedom to choose. Then the Holy Spirit reminds me of the prophesies of Jesus in Matthew 24:12-13 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
The Holy Spirit has revealed to me that God still loves us all. To most of us, victims ourselves, he is crying out to us, through our spirits, that he is there and if we can only trust and believe in him, everything will be alright. For some, they will never see God’s light, but for others, we cause pain because we are hurt. We transfer our own aggression’s, attitudes, and behaviors against others because that is what we have been taught to do by people who we trust and love. Ignorant themselves, they have hurt us, and the cycle continues.
But with God, I am no longer ignorant. “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Love cures all ills. Jesus gave me these words in Matthew 22:37-40 so I try to love regardless of the circumstances because I know that then I follow God’s will for my life. (Ps, I am not perfect and do fall short sometimes, because in truth I sometimes want to wallop people, lol. But God still loves me.)
So is it God’s fault there is so much injustice and pain in this world? I personally don’t think so; his word promises me good and not bad, even when I don’t understand it. If I follow his guidance, his word promises me abundance, health, and wisdom. My favorite scripture says it all. John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Mother Teresa says it all:
“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”
