Words of Hope and Faith for the Weary

My Pledge

God is good.
His word says he is faithful and Just.
He forgives me of all my sins;
Plus his word says whenever I pray, he hears me.
And if he hears me I have the petitions of my heart.
If I lack wisdom I only ask of him and he will give to me freely.
I must be of faith and in total trust that he hears my prayers, and helps me when I ask.
What I do, I do of myself;
But when I ask him what I do, believe in faith that the things I do, I do through his spirit.
Believe him and trust him through the trials I face; when I ask in faith.
If things are not as I expect or is discouraging,
Praise him and be thankful for even that.
Knowing it is not his will.
His is better.
This  is a personal pledge to myself that I am committed to perform.  I would like to share it with others so that within yourselves you can determine to follow God through all of the challenges that come against you as well.
For those new to Gods word, I would like to explain its meaning.
Firstly, I do not say I have all the answers; but I know what God has done for me, and what gives me comfort. Like many, my mind wavers and doubts fill me often. The fight against defeat causes me sleepless night, mood swings, and fear that makes me want to turn around to the way things were. God through his spirit has shown me this should not be, and the danger of a double mind.
In God’s word, the bible, 1st John 1:9 KJV says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” When I know I have wronged another or sinned against his will I ask for forgiveness. Through his word, I realize that when I ask for forgiveness, through the blood of Jesus, my sins are forgiven me and the love of God has never left me.
When I pray, I always keep my confidence in it; unyielding faith; not in myself, but in the faith that he cares about me and hears my prayers. 1st John 14:1-15 also says, “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. This I try to hold on to regardless of the thoughts in my mind or the words people say.
The desires in my heart, which I know he has given me, helps me believe he has a plan for me. If I am not sure my thoughts are from him, I ask him. James 1:5-6 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.
Sometimes I do things that are not his will; within myself, if I am honest, I know it. They never turn out for my good, or are nothing more than useless efforts that I make. However, when I follow his will, I do the things he wants me to do. And somehow, they always turn out for the best.
Any situation that I find myself in, always will I praise God. My reality is, that he is there to help me through all of my trials. I praise him because he is good, because he loves me, and because he sent his son to die for me. Nothing I go through can be worse than the pain that Jesus suffered; due to his gift, all I go through, I do not go though it alone. God is there, and an end will come to it; for my better.
Lastly my favorite verse; it always gives me peace, Prov 3:5-6 ” Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
