Requiem of Lifelessness
The weather, as normal this time of the year in Vancouver, is overcast and raining, and this morning it seemed there was a despondency in the atmosphere when I looked outside. Nevertheless, when I took my puppy for a walk today after the rain let up for a while, I realized I was all wrong for the reason that I saw a pure beauty in the raindrops as I gazed at the branches on a bushy tree. Small bubbles of what looked like sparkling crystal, covered them, making them stand out as if the trees wore tiny jewels across their leaves; it was the rain drops, so pure and clear, I could do nothing but admire their flawlessness.
If I only looked at the rain and the gloomy looking day, it would have been just another good day to stay inside if possible; then I would have missed the outing I had with my friend and hearing her laughter. Recently diagnosed with breast cancer, through her prayers, we know that God has healed her. However, as she waits for the manifestation of health in her body, my friend continues to live life, and today her face seemed to glow, and she smiled as if it were her wedding day. And if she does not receive her healing, she said she was full of joy to see Jesus. It was a pleasure to be around her, and her faith astounding, I would have never known the doctors had said she was ill unless I knew it personally.
When God is in our lives, we can smile when things do not seem right in our natural surroundings, and when we look deep enough we can see the good; even as I saw in the smile of my friend, and the rain drops today. God is like the rain, He washes away all of the sadness, fear, and illnesses, providing a brilliance within us, and giving us peace in our hearts in times when we should feel despair and turmoil. It is the faith in God’s love for us that we hang on to, and it is possible when we allow the Holy Spirit to calm our troubled hearts.
Jn 14:26-27 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.”
I received the cover for my book “Treacherous Deceit,” and that also gave me immense happiness and another reason to worship God for his goodness. So much time have I waited, so hard I have worked through many re-writes, but now my second book is fully completed, and I have beaten the disbelief of those around me and conquered my own fears. This is just the start, but I made it this far, and with God’s help I will continue to write and sell my books, and like my friend with cancer knows God has healed her, I have no doubt God will bless me in my endeavors. He is not biased either; he will bless you too.
These are only two examples of the comfort that God gives through his Holy Spirit, and I am a witness that when we allow him to work in our hearts, he keeps you going even when it looks impossible. God is Good; Jesus told his disciples not to fear, and his words are for everyone that believes on him.
“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: Jn 14:16-18.
These are delightful words to us all, and I encourage you to allow God to take away your fears; he does not want you lacking and afraid, He only wants the best for us All.
Jn 10:10 “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.”
